Kenai Peninsula Borough Criminal Records
Per AS 12.62.160, any interested person may request access to Kenai Peninsula Borough criminal records. The State's Department of Public Safety, Criminal Records and Identification (R&I) Bureau maintains criminal records at the state level. Concerned persons may request either name-based or fingerprint-based criminal justice information and background checks from the R&I at $20 and $35 respectively. Additional copies of these records cost $5 if requested at the same time as the original and $20 if requested at a later time.
Fingerprints for conducting a criminal history check with the R&I must be submitted correctly using the approved FD-258 FBI fingerprint form. Get Kenai Peninsula Borough Civil Court Records
Interested applicants may obtain Kenai Peninsula Borough civil court records from the Clerk's office of the Superior or District Court. Requestors may walk into the Clerk's office within business hours to submit details of the record or mail a completed court record request form. Kenai Peninsula Borough marriage records are preserved by the Health Analytics & Vital Records Division of the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services. Per state laws, marriage records not older than 50 years are not publicly available and may only be accessed by any of the spouses, their legal representatives, or requestors with a court order.
Eligible applicants may request certified copies of Kenai Peninsula Borough Marriage certificates by submitting a completed marriage certificate request form, approved means of identification, and fees to the Vital Records Division. Kenai Peninsula Borough Divorce Records
The Clerk's Office of the Kenai Peninsula Borough Superior Court manages and issues copies of divorce records and decrees. Interested persons may submit written requests or fill out the provided request form. Requests should contain the names of the divorced parties, the date of the divorce, and the case number if known. The Clerk's office charges an hourly research fee for requests whose case number is unknown by the requestor. Copy and research fees may be paid by cash, check, or money order.
In addition, the Vital Records Division of the state's Department of Health processes requests for certified copies of divorce certificates. Divorce records older than 50 years are publicly available and may be requested by anyone. However, records less than 50 years old are available only to the divorcees, a legal representative of either party, and other persons with a legal entitlement to the record.
